Safe ATM Use
ATMs are a fast, easy, convenient way to get the cash you need and pay for purchases. Just make sure you're using them safely.

How to play it safe at the ATMs:

  • Be aware of your surroundings: If you notice something suspicious, use another location and report unusual occurrences to your bank and the police as soon as possible.
  • Be prepared before you approach the ATM: Have your card ready and your deposit slip filled out; know your code.
  • If you're at a drive-up ATM: Pull up close to the terminal and keep your car running. Make sure your car doors are locked and windows are rolled up before and after your transaction.
  • Put your money away immediately; count it later.
  • Keep your receipts so you can verify your transaction information.
  • Avoid using ATMs at night if possible
